124-year old company specializing in fabricating and installing custom-made decorative and functional
outdoor shade structures and awnings for commercial and residential use.

Essential Functions:
• Fabricate various styles of awning frames/supports
• Read internal shop drawings/blueprints
• Cut and assemble frames with accuracy
• Weld aluminum and steel
• Cut/thread steel pipe
• Make inventory of various materials known to office staff
• Remove and reinstall existing fabric awning covers
• Staple-in
• Lace
• Tek screw
• Coordinate installation procedure with engineer and sales install custom-made products in the field
• Trouble shoot/overcome/solve installation challenges
• Repair existing awnings and canopies in the field
• Load and unload truck
• Friendly/courteous interaction with customers and their workers
• Keep work area clean and tidy
• Keep work tools in proper working condition
• Other tasks as assigned

Work Environment:
• Inside shop and outside (year round)
• Climb ladders while carrying 50 lbs. or more
• Work from an extension ladder while drilling, hammering, tightening bolts, caulking, lifting and tying rope
• Wear safety equipment as needed when required

• Install and program motorized awnings and screens
• Trouble shoot programming issues
• Learn laser measuring system
• Learn Rhino cad/operated plotting system
• Learn and operate computer windows-based Awning Composer (rendering software)

Job Requirements:
• Must be drug-free
• No fear of heights
• Able to lift up to 75 lbs
• Read tape measure to 1/8”
• Valid driver’s license
• Mechanical aptitude
• Knowledge of and ability to operate various hand and electric tools
• Previous construction experience a plus
• Desire to be or become a craftsman!

Working Hours:
8:00 to 4:30, Monday through Friday. Overtime as required.
